I'm not as prepared as I should be, the past couple of months have been a whirl wind of change in my house. Life had thrown me challenges that I didn't quite know how to handle, I'm finding my way and have learned the Lord is a great light if I let him lead. I had officially fallen off the Earth to some, but now I'm back better than ever. </div><br />
We have Simple Christmas Decor ideas to get us back on track, here are a few of my favorite things.... :)<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="Christmas Reflections" src="http://images.meredith.com/bhg/images/2010/04/ss_101464126.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br />
</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div style="text-align: left;">Ornaments can be hung just about anywhere and add such holiday glam!</div><div><br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="Winter Wonderland" src="http://images.meredith.com/bhg/images/2010/04/ss_100218086.jpg" /></div><div><br />
<div>It's a Winter Wonderland using all white with pops of Christmas color. Planters are filled with ornaments here for inexpensive holiday decorating.</div><div><br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="Making It Monochromatic" src="http://images.meredith.com/bhg/images/2010/04/ss_101314456.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Monochromatic adds dramatic holiday style in this picture. Green custard cups are surrounded by green, sparkly ornaments on a silver tray. The floating candles are an awesome final touch and illuminate the arrangement beautifully. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="Wrought iron chandelier with frosted ornaments and red ribbons" src="http://images.meredith.com/bhg/images/2006/08/ss_100225205.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Red-satin ribbons and ornaments add Glamour to a dining room chandelier. Simple, quick and in-expensive. :)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="candles in bowl with silver balls" src="http://images.meredith.com/bhg/images/2008/06/ss_BHG144331.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Such a sophisticated centerpiece and oh so fancy, look again. :) It's a kitchen bowl filled with your everyday candles, throw in some silver holiday balls and silver bead decor.... Bam! Instant Glam! Love it.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="Red tulips in a pot" src="http://images.meredith.com/bhg/images/2007/08/ss_100963392.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Holiday ornament flower pots are cute and add a great splash of color. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

I have learned when the Lord calls I listen up the first time. Sooo with that being said, once again, I am apologizing for my MIA status the last few weeks. So don't mind me if I rattle on aimlessly on occasion... :) </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />

Happy decorating~ xo Julie</span></div>Julie~ My Bella Homehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17794205788727479658noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-754073190579022623.post-24292697247611800202010-09-15T11:29:00.000-07:002010-09-15T11:29:48.339-07:00One Day Makeovers~ Redesigns<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm often asked what is a Redesign? </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Basically a Redesign is taking what you already own and giving your space a fresh new look with it. My goal in the process is to help you have a home that tells your story with the things you already own and love.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/shared/images/Xg/7-cozyisromantic-outdoorroom-1207-xlg.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/outdoor-room-design-ideas">Pic Credit</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It's so exciting to offer a change for a client who is frustrated with the look they have and want it to feel "complete" or "just right". Often times these Makeovers or Redesign clients have an additional small budget to work with for updating some accessories (toss pillows, throws, candles, wall art) or additional pieces they may have wanted. If they don't that's ok, getting creative and shopping your home for a new look is so much fun. We can help with paint color selection, furniture, carpet and any other need you may have! Most Redesigns are typically done in a day while the client is away at work, running errands or whatever!</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Imagine the surprise when you walk in to a fresh new space you love~</span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/hS/nisbet-01-bedroom-yellow-0710-nisbet-01-de.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/home-makeovers/bedroom-makeover-ideas-pictures-0710">The Before</a></td></tr>

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px;"><img height="400" src="http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/z5/nisbet-18-oriental-area-rug-0710-nisbet-18-de.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="312" /></span></span></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The client leaves and the room is cleared for a fresh slate to work with.</td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
<div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This Makeover client wants new paint~ not usually the case on one day Redesigns</td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is how the clients new "story" for her room begins~ new purchase mixed with the things she already owns.</td></tr>
</tbody></table></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/HF/nisbet-61-hanging-pictures-0710-nisbet-61-de.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Now call the Client to return, we are ready for the big Reveal!!!! </td></tr>

</div><div style="text-align: left;">So I've been MIA for almost two weeks... sorry for not keeping up the posts! Life happens to just take over sometimes with four kiddos, a new dog, my oldest going to Homecoming, two little ones birthday parties, teenage girl problems, projects to complete and consults, mounds of laundry and lots of other Mommy jobs. :) I would not know how to live without chaos! So join me as I dream of peaceful places, happy thoughts to settle my nerves today. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">or maybe I could build my own Tree Cathedral like the one in Italy.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="tree cathedral bergamo italy" src="http://www.studiogblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/tree-cathedral-500x208.png" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I get asked this all the time... How do I hang a picture correctly? While there are standard "rules", it truly does just have to look alright. It's not a game of perfection, if it feels good when you look at it, it's probably ok.</span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Here's some thoughts to get you started:</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 22px;">If the space includes a large wall and a lot of floor space, start by arranging the artwork on the floor first. Measure how far they need to be from one another. Then take one at a time and put them up on the wall.</span></div><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.385; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: none; outline-width: initial; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Another option is to make a template of each piece to be hung. Just trace around the outside of the frame on kraft paper or newspaper and cut out the shape.</span></span></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.385; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: none; outline-width: initial; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Secure the templates to the wall with reusable adhesive, which looks a bit like putty or chewing gum. It won't tear pieces from the wall or the paper patterns. You can also carefully use scotch tape in a pinch. :)</span></span></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.385; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: none; outline-width: initial; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: medium; line-height: 22px;">Consider grouping four small same-size pictures together in a four-square, to give the illusion of a larger picture.</span></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.385; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: none; outline-width: initial; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">There doesn't always have to be four in a group. Consider using a larger picture in the center. Then place two smaller pictures on either side of the large picture, spaced vertically to about equal the length of the larger frame. Or, in place of the larger picture, use a large mirror.</span></span></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.385; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: none; outline-width: initial; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Not all frames will always be matching sizes, so approximate and just try to balance the impact of the frames -- not match them perfectly.</span></span></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.385; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: none; outline-width: initial; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Always hang pictures at about eye level for an average height person.</span></span></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.385; margin-bottom: 18px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: none; outline-width: initial; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">If hanging a picture over a sofa, don't leave a lot of wall space between sofa and picture. We all have space for a home office, we just don't realize it yet. Do you have a seriously junky closet full of stuff you don't really use or could store elsewhere?<br />

They have painted the inner doors and added cork board on one side and peg board on the other. Peg board can be purchased at Home Depot for about $20 and Cork board at Hobby Lobby or any craft type store for under $20. The next step is having fun accessorizing! The great part is if you want to keep it out of reach of little ones or having guests over, just close the doors! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

I had a birdhouse redo with the 6 year old, a dance melt down with the 13 year old princess, an 8 year old who had anxiety at his karate tournament, and the teenager who thinks he needs a piercing. Sooo, a giant life size hershey bar or a gallon or three of ice cream ought to do it! I did survive with a few laughs this week at Catalog Living.net, love that site!<br />

Well I totally did and the perk of the week was we decided to adopt a 10 month old puppy named Jack, he's a black Golden Doodle, hmm... that sounds like a color identity crisis. Anyways, he's quite large and when he jumps up on me his paws reach my shoulders and when I say paws I mean hooves. Yes, he's in need of some training reinforcement as he settles into our family. He's the sweetest thing ever and loves attention, his favorite look is walking around with his tongue hanging out. Gotta love it!</span><br />

I sooo love the treasure hunt! Now, don't get me wrong, it's not always a treasure trove of finds each time I go.</span></div></span><br />

<div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hello! How was your weekend? Mine was full of surprises and last minute changes, as a mother of four children I should never be surprised, but I still am. That's life, always changing and not always what we planned on. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Like when I moved into my house a year ago, I envisioned how I was going to decorate the rooms and how lush the back yard would look and life just takes over and I still have plenty to do on that list. I'm challenging myself to "work" on my home more too and not just everyone else's! :) What is your list like? Do you need tips and ideas for turning your house into a home? Here's our Tips to Transform a Family Room Part II to help get you started.</span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />

</tbody></table><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">6. Wall Art</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Having wall art of some type on the walls is crucial, this helps to tie all of the pieces together. Making sure it has the colors you are using in your room is key. Some find inspiration from fabric or a piece of artwork and create their room around that. (ex: wall color, drape/curtain colors, pillow colors, accessories, etc...) When hanging art make sure you're not hanging it too high or too low. For example if you're 6'5" hanging it at your level would be high for an average person. We shouldn't have to gaze to the heavens to see what you have on the walls. ;) Artwork needs to be connected to something, if you're hanging it over a couch it shouldn't be three feet above and floating. Just above eye level for an average size person is a good rule for hanging in general, I will have a future post on this to give more specifics.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">7. Creating Cozy</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now is when you bring in your coordinating curtain/drapes, pillows for the couch and possibly a throw for the chair. I love finding inexpensive deals at Walmart, Target, TJMAXX, Marshalls or if you're feeling fantabulous making your own pillows with some great fabric. (yes, I make up my own words) It's great to find a few pillows you love and some inexpensive coordinating ones to go with them to save money. </span><br />

</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Make it yours, give it your personal touch. What do you like and love? Maybe a few family pictures, a piece or few pieces from something you collect, a few of your travel books or scrapbooks on display on the coffee table. Maybe children's art work in a frame if you like to display that, candles, shells from your beach trip in a bowl, anything that tells the story of you and your family. You want to make it cozy, make it feel welcoming and just like home. :) I hope these tips help you get started, feel free to send me a message with any questions. </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />

1. Furniture Placement<br />
<br />
Nothing screams lonely more than a room with the furniture lining the walls, they are not your enemies! Bring your sofa & chairs in closer for a more intimate conversation area, pull those babies off the walls. I always suggest finding a lovely focal point for your room: large window with a view, beautiful art, fireplace, you get the idea and creating conversation areas around that. Please know you can have more than one conversation area in your space, be creative.<br />
<br />
<br />

</tbody></table>2. Lighting<br />
<br />
Lighting is so important for a space and I don't mean the visit to the ob/gyn kind. Lamps are key here for soft light and a oh so lovely glow. Three is key, I like to do the triangle effect with my placement around the room. Try it, turn on the lamps and turn off our functional ceiling fan/light combo. Cozy AND romantic, hmmm too bad my 7 & 9 year old boys can't appreciate this over their cartoons.<br />
<br />
<br />

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="great room" height="300" src="http://img4.myhomeideas.com/i/legacy/design/ct/05/10/CT0510069l_1_x.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="400" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">What doesn't everyone's house look like this? ha! I wish! Love the windows, letting the light in!<a href="http://room-galleries.myhomeideas.com/pictures/living-areas/all/cottage/index.html?ad=7&N=0+771+736&dir=next&view=gallery&No=21&sp=topRated">{Photo Credit}</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
3. Open The Blinds<br />
<br />
I love, love, love sunshine, unless it's 115 and I'm outside in it. :) Opening the blinds brings in so much natural light that floods your space with instant warmth. It makes quite the transformation in a room that may suffer from dungeonitits, not to mention it's good for us, try it, doesn't it make you feel happy? :) So crank up those blinds and let the sunshine in!<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.comic-mint.com/media/client/aladdin-jasmin-flying-carpet-cel-029_sml.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Aladdin Google Image ;)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>4. Rugs<br />
<br />
If you're using one please make it 5 x 8 or larger and make sure it is connected to something in the space. There's nothing quite like the look of a floating carpet in the middle of the room, unless you're Aladdin of course. :o<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_itYrwqTJD0g/S8W8g2pjVoI/AAAAAAAADFI/s1xlkoxiFQ0/s400/ss_100135059.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="291" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Midwest Living Photo</td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
5. Bringing the Outside In~ a touch of nature<br />
<br />
Bring a touch of nature inside whatever that might be for wherever you live, seashells, sand in a jar, starfish, pinecones, flowers in a vase, pretty hibiscus in a bowl, cuttings from bushes in your yard, rocks from Sedona your kids are saving :), you get the idea. If you feel inclined to purchase indoor plants this is also a nice touch, these nature touches help create life in your room.<br />
<br />
6. Declutter<br />
<br />
This is the fastest way for me to help my space breathe. Round up the kids shoes, star wars figures, stick collection, ipods and whatever else they manage not to take to their rooms and WOW I do have a lot of space in here (did I mention my pile of design & real estate books?). Now I need to mention in a decor way if you own greenery or flowers from the 80's now may be the time to clear them out. Freshen up your space by removing artificial greenery older than 3 - 5 years old and declutter.<br />
<br />
I just love it when a room is tidy, put together and feels good. What is your toughest room and the challenge with it? We would love to help give ideas!<br />

My heart beat fast as I realized she didn’t meet the standard of super mom I’d set for myself.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Somehow, just as she was, God chose her to be Jesus’ mother. And the only qualification that she seemed to have was her willingness.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">I made the choice to try and let go of all those expectations I had for myself as a mom. I let go of the comparisons to other moms. I laid down the measuring stick of perfection. And I simply bowed my head and gave God my willingness.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Nothing more.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Slowly, I started to see my own unique qualities as a mom instead of always focusing on the places I felt I fell so short.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">I may not be the most organized mom, but I’m a fun mom willing to drop my to do list in the name of spontaneity.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">I may not do sit down devotions with my kids every morning, but I’m good at helping my kids see God working in situations all throughout our days.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">I may not sew a lick, but I know where to find an alterationist that is the bomb.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">I may not always keep my cool in the everyday aggravations of life, but throw something big at me and somehow I’ll be the most calm person in the room.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Sure, I have a lot of room for growth in my mothering. <strong>God and I work on things daily</strong>. But over the past ten years I’ve learned how to embrace who I am and the beauty of living fully as me.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">And while I still fall short at times, <strong>I’ve finally learned that being fully me is so much better than an imitation version of someone else.</strong></div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">I have the exact qualities God knew my kids would need in a mother. So, each day I hold up my willingness and ask God to make me the best version of me I can be.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Have you ever struggled with this? Whether it’s in the arena of motherhood or your workplace or one of the many places we unfairly compare ourselves to others- realize your great qualities and be fully you.</div><div>I found this on a great site you should check out by<a href="http://lysaterkeurst.com/page/4/"> Lysa TerKeurst</a>, an awesome woman of faith. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Just stoppin' in to give a hot little howdy for my friends out there and to say... how's your weekend? My week got away from me and projects went astray, but, I did do a little browsing of home decor catalogs this week. :) Don't ya just love some of the stuff in catalogs? Ahhh... if only I didn't have to pay the mortgage AND have electricity this month. ;)</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I LOVE the inspiration and ideas I can find from flipping through various catalogs. I often times find myself laughing at some of the pictures as well. Just last night I was flipping through a catalog, I will not name, which had pages upon pages of sofas and chairs with "document print" for the fabric. Now I ask you, who in their right mind would want a sofa that looks life five year olds got a hold of it?? Really? Is it kind of like your last day at school... "here, sign my shirt". "Oh... I'm moving... here.. sign my couch". hmmm... </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="clear: left; float: left; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img height="200" src="http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/ballarddesigns/FF016DOB_1?$direct$" width="200" /> The swatch of Document Fabric in question. I will personally pass on furniture with fabric of that design. eeks!</span></div><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I have to tell you about a new site I happened upon recently called <a href="http://catalogliving.tumblr.com/">Catalog Living</a>, oh... my... word! I was even scolded by my six year old to stop the convulsive laughing as I browsed the site, I was too loud and interrupting his Wii game. Ha! </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The author of the site has created a fictional couple, Gary and Elaine, who live within the catalog pictures, and she pokes fun at the gorgeous pictures we love.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Here's a sample and a laugh for you...</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It's full blown summer here in the lovely Valley of the Sun, errr... or is that Death Valley... no, no, just kidding. I can only say by mid July you begin to rethink your sanity for living in the desert, as the temperatures sore to a lovely 109 and above. But hey, on the upside we may have some storms </span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">and a high of 106 by the weekend! Woo hoo! </span></span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Truly what did people do before air conditioning, let me count my blessings. :) No, really, it's lovely here most months, I promise! I love it!</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Let me give you some Tuesday Thoughts to cool you off and keep you sane if you're going crazy from the heat.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Let's think summer colors, adding pops of color, small changes to shake things up a bit. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Let's think bedrooms today... our retreat areas... our private oasis if you will... </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vcoza3Epw_g/TEZ-r5QnXLI/AAAAAAAAAAU/bLFED-7dU4k/s1600/blogpicbedroomfloral.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="310" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vcoza3Epw_g/TEZ-r5QnXLI/AAAAAAAAAAU/bLFED-7dU4k/s400/blogpicbedroomfloral.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">If you can afford new bedding for summer that's great, if not add splashes of color to what you already have. Changing out dull curtains and adding fresh colored ones adds drama to a room. Additional accessories in the same color scheme will add more flair: </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">candles, flowers, toss pillows, a throw at the end of the bed, perhaps a new piece of wall art, fresh colored towels for the bathroom, a new lamp or refurbished lamp or maybe just color added to the lamp shade!</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The possibilities are endless...</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vcoza3Epw_g/TEZ-xn0cWOI/AAAAAAAAAAc/hvuWzXLZsSA/s1600/blogbedroomcolorpop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vcoza3Epw_g/TEZ-xn0cWOI/AAAAAAAAAAc/hvuWzXLZsSA/s400/blogbedroomcolorpop.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Wall colors can be changed for a very low cost and a great impact. I can feel DIY projects coming on! Are you excited? Are you feeling creative? </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">What a great way to stay out of the gruesome heat and feed your creativity. So start thinking how you can throw some cool changes into your home with very little spent! Feel free to share your great ideas for fun summer decorating tips, we would love to hear from you! </span><br />
